Albemarle Montessori Children’s Community

Albemarle Montessori Children’s Community (AMCC) began in 2014 with the goal of providing top-quality, year-round Montessori education for the families located in north Charlottesville, northern Albemarle County, and surrounding towns and counties. We have one pre-primary classroom of two-year olds, two 3-6 primary classrooms, and beginning in the fall of 2018, a Montessori elementary program for grades 1-6. Executive Director Fred Catlin has been a leader in the Montessori world for over twenty years, having served as a head of two large Montessori schools, member of the Board of a national Montessori organization, consultant and accrediting team leader for Montessori schools, and presenter at several Montessori national conferences. AMCC strives to provide the highest and truest form of Montessori education to the children, integrating the natural world, STEAM, and social/emotional development into the fabric of each child’s educational experience.
