Woodlawn Preparatory School

We are a Community School with a Christian Worldview. We believe that a Christian worldview is vital to an understanding of how to develop relationships as leaders in the world and local community, members of a family, and as children of God. It is the cooperative efforts of parents, children, and the school that help form the integral parts of a child’s intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development. Woodlawn Prep recognizes that the learning environment must be characterized by personal excellence in work with high levels of engagement, motivation, kindness, service, collaboration, and respect for individuality and diversity. That is why we implement a Montessori curriculum from grades PreK3 through 6th grade. The students absorb learning through their experiences. Our learning activities emerge from the use of instructional materials that enable the child to use his/her senses as aids to learning. Through the implementation of the Montessori philosophy of education and human development, children can achieve their highest potential as self-directed learners and creative problem-solvers.
