Alfred G. Zanetti Montessori Magnet School

Alfred G. Zanetti Montessori School is dedicated to raising expectations for teaching and learning in order to increase student achievement. It is the school’s vision to align and implement Montessori pedagogy with the standards-based initiatives of the Springfield Public Schools. Zanetti Montessori has integrated the Montessori curriculum with the common core and aligned all instruction to both support the standards as well as preserve the essence of Montessori pedagogy in a public school environment. Teachers and students at Zanetti strive to work collaboratively in a peaceful environment while meeting and exceeding standards. The Mission of Zanetti Montessori is to create a culture of excellence that is centered on a commitment to social, emotional, and academic achievement through a challenging blended Standards-Based and Montessori curriculum where students learn to read, write, think critically, explore, create, and analyze information necessary for 21st Century success. Student and school supports include City Connects, Springfield College, Reader to Reader, Boys and Girls Club, Middle School Enrichment, outside garden, and Ready! For Kindergarten. The school has a very active Parent Teacher Organization that plans family centered programs involving Literacy, Math, the Arts, Physical Education, Technology, and Multicultural Events.
